This method provides a deeper knowledge of drum-chart reading and interpretation through the performance of 40 songs in a variety of musical styles. The study of each style begins with a simple drum chart and gradually builds in skill level to more complex and demanding compositions. The styles included range from rock, rhythm & blues, and funk, to blues, jazz, Latin music, and more. Each song is fist described in detail, then presented in the form of a standard drum chart. the book, providing the opportunity to listen and play along with the tracks while following the related drum charts. Each song has two tracks: the fist is the song played in full performance with the band and drums for reference, and the second is the entire band without the drums for playing along.
